Injection Molding Parameters
| Process Parameter | Recommended Range | Unit | Remarks & Descriptions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drying Treatment | 2‑3 h at 80°C | ‑ | HIPS has low water absorption; pre‑drying is generally unnecessary for processing. Drying is recommended if material is stored in humid environment or exposed for long time after package opening. |
| Barrel Temperature | 180‑260 | °C | Preferred processing temperature:190‑240°C. Avoid long‑term residence at high temperature to prevent degradation. |
| Mold Temperature | 10‑60 | °C | Carefully controlled mold temperature is critical for surface quality, weld‑line strength and warpage resistance. Higher mold temperature generally improves surface gloss and reduces internal stress. |
| Injection Pressure | Adjust according to product structure and dimension | MPa | Sufficient holding pressure is required to avoid sink marks. |
| Screw Speed | Medium speed (50‑100 rpm recommended) | rpm | Excessively high speed shall be avoided to prevent excessive shear heat. |
